It’s salmon season in Wisconsin. This species is now moving in to the streams, creeks, and tributaries of our great state. Wait for the next big rain in late September and you can catch his great eating fish off shore. Baits include crank baits on spinning rods, flies on fly rods, spawn while bobber fishing, or my personal favorite red playdough in a ball on the bottom. Hold onto your hats it’s salmon season! You can’t catch fish this big or fresh unless you plan on visiting Alaska or the west coast. Wisconsin Fishing license information can be found here! An index of all Wisconsin fishing seasons can be found here.
