Plantar Fasciitis is a common injury that most people will suffer from in their lifetime. Athletes can be very prone to it due to overuse. Milwaukee Brewers First baseman Corey Hart has had a lingering case of it. Hart is most likely not getting better because he is not resting it enough – rest is the best way to promote healing of this injury. With the season ending, he will be able to truly rest the injured ligament for a longer time and get better. Chronic plantar fasciitis that does not respond to conservative treament used to require a trip to the operating room, but now have new treatments such as PRP or Shockwave Therapy that can be done in an office visit.
