If it has been over one year since you received your orthotics, you should have a check-up for any needed adjustments. Your feet may have changed within the past year, and may need to be re-evaluated. Generally, the lifespan of a pair of orthotics is about 2 years. This can be influenced by a number of factors. If you have a softer, flexible orthotic, it can wear out faster than a more rigid one. If you have very flexible feet, and wear your orthoics in thinner, more bendable shoes, they will also wear out faster. There is also the simple matter of how many miles are on your “tires.” If you walk or run a lot, your orthotics will wear out sooner.
