The A1C test is an important one for diabetics – it measures your average blood glucose over the past two to three months. Your average blood glucose is an indication of how well you are controlling your diabetes. If you are having trouble and your glucose levels are not where your doctor wants them to be, you should have the test more frequently (every few months). If your glucose levels are stable and where your doctor wants them to be, you only need the test twice per year.
